Position Purpose
The Senior Director of Advancement Systems & Analytics (ASA) is a senior‐level leader responsible for setting and executing the enterprise vision for advancement technology, data, and analytics in support of Medical & Healthcare Advancement (MHA). Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement Administration, this role provides strategic direction and operational oversight for the systems, data governance, reporting, and analytical capabilities that underpin fundraising, donor engagement, and stewardship across Dartmouth Health and the Geisel School of Medicine.

As a trusted strategic partner to MHA, member affiliates, DH IT and Geisel Computing, DH and Geisel Finance, Dartmouth College Advancement, and institutional leadership, the Senior Director ensures that advancement information systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational policies, architecture, and priorities. This role elevates data as a strategic asset, fostering a culture in which insights are accessible, actionable, and trusted, enabling leaders and frontline fundraisers to make informed decisions and drive philanthropic impact. In a period of rapid organizational growth, the Senior Director plays a critical role in leading change management efforts across MHA, establishing scalable governance, policies, and business processes that support expansion while maintaining consistency, compliance, and operational discipline.

The Senior Director leads a multidisciplinary team spanning advancement systems, analytics, and reporting, including oversight of the Associate Director of Gift Recording who leads the Gift Recording team. Through this reporting relationship, the Senior Director provides strategic guidance for gift processing, records management, financial reconciliation, and downstream advancement operations that depend on high‐quality data, strong internal controls, and reliable systems. Through thoughtful governance, collaboration, and innovation, the role balances long‐term strategy with operational excellence in a complex, distributed environment.

Education and Experience
Bachelors in Information Systems, Computer or Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
10+ years of progressively responsible experience in advancement technology, fundraising systems, data management, or analytics.
7+ years of leadership experience managing technical or analytical teams in higher education, academic medicine, healthcare philanthropy, or complex nonprofit environments.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Demonstrated success leading and optimizing advancement CRM ecosystems (e.g., Blackbaud CRM/RE NXT, Salesforce, Ellucian Advance, Slate) and integrating third‐party fundraising and engagement platforms.
Strong expertise in advancement data governance, privacy, records management, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, FERPA; HIPAA as applicable).
Advanced knowledge of data architecture, database management, SQL, and API‐based integrations, and middleware.
Expertise in business intelligence and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and fluency with fundraising metrics, pipeline management, and the full gift lifecycle.
Proven program and project management experience, including vendor management, budgeting, risk mitigation, testing, and quality assurance.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and analytic concepts for senior leaders and nontechnical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education advancement and/or healthcare or academic medicine fundraising.
Familiarity with predictive modeling, experimentation, and statistical tools (e.g., Python, R, SAS); experience with model governance and MLOps a plus.
Depth in enterprise infrastructure domains such as identity and access management, secure data exchange, data retention and archiving, and disaster recovery.
Experience implementing AI pilots and/or solutions within established institutional AI, data, and privacy policies and guidelines.
Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile/Scrum, ITIL; Salesforce or Blackbaud platform certifications; Power BI or Tableau certifications)
