Research Technician I - Farris Lab (Temporary Part-Time)

Position Overview and Responsibilities
The Farris Lab within the Arthritis & Clinical Immunology Research Program at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) is seeking a Temporary Part-time Research Technician, responsible for the performance of research experiments and procedures according to standardized protocols. Must have the ability to complete tasks after receiving instructions for each assignment. Collects and presents data to Principal Investigator and laboratory team members. Supports team to achieve goals. Expected to perform the following duties after appropriate training and time in the position.
Responsibilities will include:

• Coupling of proteins to magnetic beads using standardized protocols
• Collecting bead-based assay data using standardized protocols
• Reporting results, including data summaries and basic statistical analyses
• Contribution to general laboratory maintenance, ordering, and inventory

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in one of the biological sciences, physics, chemistry, or related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Professionalism while interacting with a diverse group of people, personalities, and cultures.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience or expertise in developing magnetic bead-based assays (strongly preferred).
• Experience or expertise in collecting bead-based assay data.
• Interest in autoimmunity or immunology.
• Experience with usage of R Studio.
Work Hours
Approximately 20 hours per week. Hours will typically be worked during regular business hours (9:00 AM-5:30 PM), Monday through Friday, though the specific days and times may vary. Occasional work outside these hours may be required to accommodate experimental setups. Expected duration is 4-6 months, dependent upon funding and laboratory needs.
