Primary Purpose of Position
The System Administrator for Engineering Computing plays a crucial role in maintaining the unique computing infrastructure within the College of Engineering. This role is responsible for providing technical support for desktop systems, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), IoT devices, and networking infrastructure. The System Administrator ensures reliable operation and efficient use of technology by faculty, staff, and students while maintaining documentation. Additionally, the System Administrator will be responsible for installing, testing, coding, debugging, and managing existing applications, servers, and infrastructure, working with stakeholders to implement solutions that support the College’s mission.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
N.C. A&T is a public, land-grant, doctoral research institution and has been the largest historically Black university in the country for the past decade. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

3 years experience in technical support role (Windows, Linux and/or MacOS)
Experience with IoT devices
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
5 years experience in technical support role (Windows, Linux and/or MacOS) in an academic or commercial environment
Experience with software development lifecycles and project management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
