Green Health and Wellness Center is looking to add a Personal Trainer to its team of caregivers. Under the direct supervision of the Health and Fitness Manager, the Personal Traineris responsible fortheir clients' physical assessments, exercise prescription, and motivation, as well as policy enforcement, record keeping, and always delivering excellent customer service to every member. It will be your goal to help those you work with stay healthy, loseweightandassistwith their physical mobility. Working one-on-one withLifeStylesmembers presents a unique opportunity to influence healthy behavior and make a meaningful difference in their quality of life. A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed)between8:00AM – 6:00PM, Monday-Friday. Availability toworkweekends is appreciated.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Schedule and administer computerized Health Risk Appraisals and Physical Fitness Assessments to new and existing clients at least three times per year.

  • Prescribe individual exercise programs that follow the guidelines adopted by Akron GeneralLifeStylesbased on assessment results and client goals.

  • Maintain a record of past and present clients' attendance and payments.

  • Review all policies and procedures with each client verbally.

  • Provide floor coverage during times of need.

  • Follow the established procedure for repair of equipment found to be malfunctioning.

  • Displayproficiencyin the operation of computer hardware and KI software.

  • Complete mandatory education and trainingin order tomaintainorganization anddepartmentspecific competencies and requirements.

  • Maintain applicable certification/licensure.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Physical Education or other related discipline OR specific certification in personal training

  • Excellent communication and customer service-related skills

  • Ability to work variable hours

  • Experience in the administration of physical assessments, exerciseprescriptionsand program development

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Basic computer operational skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and ambulate for periods of time and ability to help clients perform under instruction.
  • Will require some lifting, bending, twisting of upper extremity to help clients with instruction.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $15.75

Maximum hourly: $21.65

A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
