What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking an R&D General Technologist who, on any given day, may be called on to:

  • Performs work predominantly in support of microelectronics post-fabrication, development, and engineering (RD&E) activities.
  • Supports multiple areas including, PRTs, ND, SPP, teams in addition to testing, and engineering data collection.
  • Analyzes results and implements procedures for problems.
  • Develops test specifications, operating procedures, statements of work, and ecatts.
  • Plan and execute POs (materials, production, testing services, etc.)
  • Tracks PO status, files documentation, review CoCs, etc.
  • Prepares reports and recommend solutions to technical problems as required.
  • Ensures NDAs are created, recorded, and archived.
  • Receive, unpack, inspect, prepare for storage, and deliver parts.

*Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range:

$74,700 - $144,400

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:

  • High School Diploma plus five (5) years related experience.
  • DOE Q security clearance or equivalent required to start.

  • Proficiency in utilizing quality assurance tools for ECI (Engineering Change Instruction) materials.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply operational process specifications and quality criteria.
  • Proficient in Oracle, Windchill PDM, PRIME, Excel, and SNL PR/PO Processes.

About Our Team:

Department 5292 is responsible for the integration of programmatic and operational strategic activities focused on sustaining the MESA capability into the future. Specifically, we sustain MESA by partnering with functional experts across the Laboratory to build an integrated operational system enabling continual delivery to our national security mission. We rely on SMEs and their processes where they exist and where they don¿t exist, we build them. These processes enable MESA to have an accurate understanding of what work MESA should be doing, understand if MESA is accomplishing its goals and objectives, and what MESA can do to continuously improve.

The Supply Chain team is responsible for product engineering and materials/service procurement for MESA Post-Fab design, development, and production activities. We collaborate closely with MESA PRTs and programs to enhance the execution of material and service procurement. Our team is dedicated to ensuring effective supplier management, identifying and developing supplier capabilities, leading qualification activities, material inventory management, export-controlled inventory compliance. By fostering strong partnerships within the organization, we streamline procurement processes, enhance operational efficiency, anticipate supplier risk, and monitor the supply chain to ensure NW Product Realization.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
