Job Description

Cleveland Clinic Martin Health isa state-of-the-arthealthcaresystemincluding three hospitals on Florida’s Treasure Coast. It is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center system that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education.

We are seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join our inpatient acute care teamlocatedacross all three hospitals, providing evaluation and treatment for adult patients with swallowing, cognitive, speech, and language disorders. This role offers the opportunity to perform instrumental swallowing assessments including Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluations of Swallowing and Modified Barium Swallow Studies.You will apply your comprehensive skills andexpertiseto deliver outstanding care, helping patients enhance their quality of lifeand grow alongside a supportive, knowledgeable team dedicated to excellence in patient care.

This is a PRN role. A caregiver in this position will work 8-hr shifts between 7:00am and 6:00pm with flexibility on start/end times.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Evaluate patients and apply a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of patients with functional limitations,impairmentsand disorders.
  • Provide, interpret,planand supervise patient evaluations and treatmentsin accordance withthephysicianreferral, ensuring the care,safetyand wellbeing of the patient.
  • Continually review the plan of care and make revisions as needed.
  • Prepare progress reports on all treatments in conjunction with departmental policies and procedures and report to the physician as needed.
  • Instruct and counsel medical staff and family members toassistthe patient in treatment techniques.
  • Perform voice evaluations, treatment of various voicedisordersand bedside swallow evaluations.
  • Demonstrate competency with the MBSs for adults and pediatrics.
  • Follow Code Blue and all protocols as per Clinic policy.
  • Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by theJointCommission.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Masters, Doctorate or SLP-D Degree from an accreditedSchool of Speech-Language Pathology
  • ASHA certification
  • Registered in State of Florida
  • CurrentSpeech-Language Pathology License (SP) from the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiologyor eligible
  • Speech Pathologist (SP)license inthe state of Florida
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American-SpeechLanguage Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Externship experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Flexibility to float between sites

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
