As a Behavioral Health Outpatient Therapist, you willutilizespecialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas of psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic interviews,assessmentsand treatment plans topatients in the Intensive Outpatient Program at Bath Health and Wellness Center and Akron General. This role is crucial in helping patients transition out of the hospital or preventing them from coming back to the hospital. Acaregiver in this position worksMonday-Thursdayfrom 8:00AM– 2:00PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide therapy sessions for individuals,groupsor families.

  • Utilize a clinical focus across the mental health spectrum from anxiety and depression to bi-polar and schizophrenia.

  • Utilize specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas of psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic interviews,assessmentsand treatment planstopatients.

  • Participate in the development and implementation ofan appropriate assessmentbasedinterdisciplinary treatment plan.

  • Consult with team managers, statutory and voluntaryagenciesand patient relatives to ensure compliance with patient treatmentplan.

  • Complete comprehensive psychosocial assessment andparticipatein interdisciplinary rounds.

  • Provide individual, group,familyand crisis counseling.

  • Act as a liaison with patients, families, community supportworkersand facilities to obtain information andfacilitatedischarge planning.

  • Provide education and resources for patients and family members.

  • Supervise and/or train lower-level social workers,studentsor interns.

  • Process paperwork, take telephonecallsand complete clinical documentation.

  • Participate in continuing professional education, departmentalmeetingsand teaching.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Master’sDegree inSocialWork,Counselingor a related field

  • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)or Licensed Social Worker (LSW)

  • No record of substantiated ethics or patient abuse reports

  • Three years of experience in a behavioral health setting

  • Comprehensive knowledge of current psychotherapeutic techniques, theoriesand practices sufficient to evaluate, diagnose and counsel patients

  • Ability to concisely document clinical findings and patient needs in an electronic medical record while navigating a multi-specialized behavioral health environment

  • Ability to communicate across different electronic platforms and across a broad geographic provide base

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Two years of experience in Mental Health service delivery with one year of leading group therapy

  • Experience with DBT Therapy

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to climb stairs, pull, push and facilitate movement of the patient.

  • Must have normal or correctable vision.

  • Must have normal or correctable hearing to be able to hear normal conversations.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
