A Staff Scientist position is available in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology. You will provide essential imaging services that support research studies and clinical trials across all disease teams and clinical departments. You will receive training in all aspects of clinical trial operations, including coordination and documentation. You will be responsible for managing grant submissions, supporting manuscript preparation, and providing imaging‑related expertise to advance departmental research activities. This position is critical to supporting the department’s scientific mission and helping faculty achieve institutional goals for research excellence and publication productivity.

As a successful candidate, you will:

· Manage grant application preparation and submission, manuscript development, and publication support.

· Coordinate radiology research lab tasks and operations, including mentoring and training lab members; providing conceptual, technical, and experimental support; contributing to grant applications and manuscripts; and assembling reports and presentations.

· Provide imaging analysis (e.g., preliminary tumor measurements), data analysis, and overall research project support.

· Assist radiologists with occasional preliminary tumor measurements as needed.

Your qualifications should include:

· The Staff Scientist must possess, at a minimum, the U.S. equivalent Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline, and will often have a Ph.D. or other doctoral level degree.

  • Strong background in oncology, radiology, or related fields.
  • Experience with imaging technology and imaging analysis

· Ability to design and execute data analysis, interpret results critically, and present data clearly.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Demonstrated publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $38.67 - $127.69 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
