Job Description

Job Summary
The Undergraduate Research Assistant position in Biological and Environmental Sciences will assist with literature and data review searches, assist with coastal wetland field research, basic GIS processing, and other assigned duties that may include lab work.
Minimum Qualifications
1) Must be a Troy University student enrolled in at least half time.
2) Must be available daily
3) Must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA
4) Must be able to perform field work under various conditions
5) Must be familiar with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other office programs

Please note: Student positions are FICA/Medicare exempt only if students are enrolled in classes in the semester work is performed. To qualify for the FICA/Medicare exemption, you must be enrolled on a half-time basis for the Fall, Spring, or Summer.
Preferred Qualifications
Laboratory and GIS skills
Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties? Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility
Work Hours
M-F 8am-5pm with occasional overnight travel.
List any hazardous conditions or physical demands required by this position
Field work includes being exposed to various climatic conditions (hot, cold, rain, etc.), in addition to being physically demanding. This position will be responsible for performing work under such conditions, in addition to loading and unloading field gear.
