City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world-class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.
With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn’t standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.
The Catering Service Worker will organize, set up and deliver requested catering services to specific requested location or conference room. Provide prompt and courteous service to all customers. Provide customers with efficient and attentive service while exceeding the customer’s expectations. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but City of Hope may identify other responsibilities of the position.
As a successful candidate, you will:
Responsible for the fulfillment of client cater order requests:
- Checks Catering ordering website, to review requested customer services to be delivered, food and services needed, dates and times.
- Distributes needed food preparation requirements to each food department in advance.
- Organizes each delivery timely, setting up all non-perishable items needed in advance.
- Delivers requested food and beverage to the delivery location, setting up all food and beverage in a professional appearance and logical manner, ensuring all condiments and service ware are available as needed.
- Listens carefully to their customers’ orders, explains drink and food items, and makes menu recommendations.
- Ensures all services are cleaned up at the end of the meeting or requested pick-up time.
- Ensures availability of any specialty linen, china and rental needs in advance.
Maintains organization of all daily and weekly services and associated needs and communications with customers.
May serve as a point of contact for the customers, booking catering, answering questions and potential planning for future service needs.
May be asked to respond to complaints regarding food or service.
- Finalizes catering invoices and billing pertaining to delivered services.
- Maintains a clean and organized working environment and professional appearance.
- May assist with stocking food inventory.May carry and distribute supplies and equipment.May assist others in the preparation of foods and properly store food.May operate dishwasher or assist with washing dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, pots and pans.
- Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
- Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures and reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan.
- Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Your qualifications should include:
Minimum Education:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
Minimum Experience:
- 0 to 1 years of related work experience.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $21.11 - $25.34 / hour
