Job Description

Summary

Postdoctoral position is sought for a postdoc with demonstrated experience in mouse models of disease, molecular biology, and electrophysiology. The candidate is expected to continue our work on adult neurogenesis and the influence of aging and age-related diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. Evidence of collaborative and team work is essential. Knowledge of biology, confocal imaging, electrophysiology, and molecular biology is essential.

Job Duties

  • Conducts Immunohistochemistry; confocal microscopy, stereology.
  • Conducts DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, cloning, Western blot analysis.
  • Performs Patch-clamp in mouse slices and other preparations.
  • Conducts Field recordings in mouse slices and other preparations.
  • Performs Screening of drugs and their effects on neuronal activity Data analysis of single and multi-electrode recordings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with a proven record of research accomplishments, have expertise in working with mouse models of disease, and a strong background in electrophysiology.
  • Some experience in drug development.
