Job Description

IT Business Management Analyst

Position Highlights:

  • The IT Business Management Analyst will focus on financial and performance reporting with technology teams including: budgeting/forecasting, benchmarking, value realization tracking, cost/benefit evaluations, labor metrics, and data analytics related to running IT as a business.  The position may also assist with contract diligence and pricing as needed  and assist in various projects as requested by internal customers and leadership/management to help create and sustain the highest level service oriented department supporting institutional efforts and direction.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for the IT operations group as well as real-time dashboards
    • Understands the month-end accounting and financial reporting close cycle
    • Extracts month end data utilizing financial tools and validates accuracy of all data
    • Prepares month end trend and variance analysis, to include variance commentary for actuals to forecast and actuals to previous year in a manner that is meaningful for IT leadership
    • Meets monthly with IT leadership to review the monthly financial reports
    • Tracks and organizes information, including cost savings, obtained during monthly  meetings to be utilized during subsequent meetings and forecasting/budgeting
  • Provides quarterly or annual data as requested.
  • Responsible for budgeting and forecasting
  • Responsible for capital expense requests for the IT operations group

Credentials and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree – field of study: Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field
  • Five (5) years business, financial analysis, and accounting experience.
  • Conceptual knowledge of information technology methodologies and the concepts behind productivity reporting.
  • Advanced skills with Hyperion Smartview, MS Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
