Position Summary:

As a RN III - Urology at City of Hope in Palmdale, you will serve as a vital link between patients and the healthcare system, guiding them through the complex journey of urological care. In addition to providing direct patient care, you will assume the role of a navigator, offering personalized support and assistance to patients and their families at every stage of their urological treatment process. This Nurse will also act as Charge Nurse for our LVN/MA clinic, will oversee patient care coordination, provide clinical guidance to the team, and ensure adherence to protocols and standards, fostering a supportive and efficient healthcare environment. This position is designated for full-time, and our offices are open Monday-Friday from roughly 8:00am-5:00pm (closed weekends and holidays).

Up to $20,000 sign-on bonus available!

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Patient Assessment and Education: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' urological health, ensuring a thorough understanding of their medical history, symptoms, and treatment preferences. Educate patients and their families about urological conditions, treatment options, and self-care practices, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.
  • Care Coordination: Serve as a central point of contact for patients, facilitating communication and coordination between healthcare providers, specialists, and support services. Coordinate appointments, diagnostic tests, consultations, and follow-up care to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of care.
  • Treatment Planning and Support: Collaborate with urologists and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to patients' needs and preferences. Provide emotional support and practical guidance to patients and their families, addressing concerns, managing expectations, and promoting coping strategies throughout the treatment journey.
  • Resource Referral: Connect patients with relevant resources, support groups, financial assistance programs, and community services to address their holistic needs and enhance their quality of life. Advocate for patients' access to comprehensive care and supportive services both within City of Hope and in the wider community.
  • Documentation and Quality Improvement: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient interactions, assessments, care plans, and outcomes using electronic health records (EHR) systems. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and program development efforts to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of urological care delivery.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Associate degree in nursing
  • To be considered for RN III - 3+ years of experience as a RN
  • To be considered for RN I - 0-3 years of experience as a RN
  • Current California Registered Nurse license
  • Current BLS through American Heart Association

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $50.85 - $76.28 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
