NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a transformational leader with a background in Facilities and Construction to join our fast-paced and dedicated team!

In this pivotal role, you will lead three departments responsible for maturing the in-house construction capability to achieve agility, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness. You will collaborate closely with the project execution department to transform our construction management and services capability to provide our customers with valuable results towards our mission while improving the user experience. You will also partner with the in-house Architecture and Engineering department to deliver integrated in-house solutions to provide a safe, stable, and modernized infrastructure.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Lead by transforming the organization: Implement the center’s mission; aligns and communicates center strategy with division and laboratory priorities; manages and monitors organization performance and risk; develops, holds accountable, and empowers managers; collaborates, and integrates with strategic partners and customers; establishes transparency among teams and programs.
  • Develop and nurture trust-based partnerships: Develop relationships and apply knowledge and experience to ensure construction execution meets customer needs.
  • Achieve operational excellence: Ensure a culture of continuous improvement and excellence is established to operate utilizing best-in-class construction practices that consistently deliver cost-effective and efficient mission solutions meeting all key performance indicators.
  • Deliver institutional and enterprise systems : Partner on digital transformation efforts to have best-in-class systems for construction and safety performance aligned to the lab priorities and D4K 10 year strategy.
  • Develop next generation of leaders : Mentor, coach, and develop the laboratories next generation of leaders to have agility, resiliency, and continuity of our mission.
  • Partner on innovative campus approach : Sustain and modernize facilities and infrastructure using an efficient and cost-effective construction campus approach with innovation and modern engineering solutions to accelerate our mission.
  • Deliver results with synergy : Partner across D4K and the laboratories to establish an inclusive psychologically safe and great place to work culture for engagement, creativity, and innovation for everyone to achieve their best empowering world-class collective results.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite 100% of the time.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor's degree in Project or Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or other field related to Facilities Management, plus ten (10) or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of relevant education and relevant experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of leadership/managerial experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Ten or more years of demonstrated leadership and/or managerial experience.
  • Relevant Master’s degree (such as Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, Construction/Facilities Management, etc.).
  • Knowledge of DOE Order 413.3B requirements and the management of capital asset projects.
  • Knowledge and experience with earned value management system (EVMS) requirements and application.
  • Knowledge of financial practices related to capitalization of property.
  • Familiarity with construction and A/E acquisition methodologies, constraints, and contracting practices/alternatives.
  • Knowledge of safety related programs: OSHA 1926 and 10 CFR 851.
  • Knowledge of project, construction management best practices, and facilities projects processes and program requirements.
  • Certification in one or more of the following: PMP, CCM, PMI-CP, and CSMC

Center 4700, Infrastructure Services, oversees project design and construction, building and utility maintenance, fleet and custodial services, and waste management for Sandia National Laboratories. We deliver excellent customer service while ensuring quality, maximizing safety, and maintaining a clean and environmentally friendly campus. We are a mission partner and the provider of choice for infrastructure services across all Laboratory sites.

The 4750 Construction Service Team is established to provide a more agile option to performing construction work at Sandia. We will establish core construction capabilities that will provide general construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing capabilities. The initial scope of work will be to start with small projects and as the capability builds, we will increase the complexity of the work.

Security Clearance:
