Our new Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program is growing rapidly and is now in need of highly skilled and professional Clinical Scheduler. This position will coordinate patient scheduling and delivery of optimum care by responsibly scheduling established patient care appointments, specifically within the Bone Marrow Transplant unit.

The successful candidate:

  • Contribute to the hospital delivery of optimum care by responsibly scheduling established patient care appointments, specifically within the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit.

  • Perform in-person, telephone interactions and electronic functions to coordinate scheduling of patient care.

  • Engage with patients, caregivers, care teams, and providers to maintain accurate schedule/visit information, accurate billing and tracking functions, and support patient satisfaction and preferences.

  • Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner. Answers telephone calls on or before the third ring in a pleasant and knowledgeable manner. Maintains a professional attitude. Updates, prints and distributes patient schedules to patients, as requested.

  • Schedule follow-up appointments for multiple disciplines and any other related appointments, as ordered by provider. Multiple disciplines to include, but not limited to: Bone Marrow Transplant unit, Infusion, Imaging, Medical Oncology, Survivorship, Surgery, Rehabilitation, Cardiology, Internal Medicine.

  • Properly inform all City of Hope patients about hospital services; communicates patients’ needs to physician and nurses.

  • Coordinate patient schedules for scans and tests in order to avoid conflicts. Explains schedules to City of Hope patients in understandable terms.

  • Demonstrate compliance with infection control guidelines including proper use of personal protective equipment.

  • Support and help team members while encouraging an organization-wide spirit of cooperation by promoting intradepartmental trust and respect.

Minimum Education Requirements

  • High School diplomas or equivalent required

  • Bachelor's degree desirable

Minimum Experience Required

  • 2-3 years of Medical Scheduling experience preferred ​

Required Licensure and Certifications:

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant or Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred, but not required

    Salary / Pay Rate Information:
    Pay Rate: $18.94 - $29.28 / hour

    The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
