Job Description

Business Analyst Senior

Position Highlights:

  • Analyzes business and functional requirements provided from the end users, and supports strategic initiatives of Moffitt's Business Intelligence (BI) team by enabling the analysis of aggregate operational data.
  • Partners with technology resources to translate the requirements into technical specifications related to Moffitt's Oracle Healthcare Data Warehouse and Microsoft SQL Server Data Warehousing environments and supporting SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports.
  • Ensures all business requirements are gathered, documented, approved and managed - works closely with Moffitt clinicians, researchers, and operational staff to ensure requirements are met through comprehensive solutions for all Data Management teams:  Interface and Integrations, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a liaison between the business, research, clinical community, the Information Technology (IT) providers and the project teams to ensure project related requirements for complex integration projects are correctly documented, accurately represented, and adequately fulfilled.  Manages and controls scope throughout project life cycle.
  • Works with cross-functional requirement gathering teams to document the business and functional requirements, system specifications and testing attributes and results.
  • Responsible for the full lifecycle management of business and functional requirements, use case development, and the business design.  Prepares accurate and detailed requirement specification document, user interface guides, and functional specification documents.
  • Implements project management processes and methodologies to help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards, and meet customer's expectations.
  • Leads in the facilitation, collection, formalization, communication, and validation of requirements to team members and external third party business partners and constituents.
  • Posts analysis work to monitor and ensure the requirements are implemented properly, accounted for, and socialized in developed specifications documents.

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field is required
  • Minimum of seven (7) years' experience analyzing and documenting business and functional requirements, in support of strategic organizational initiatives.
  • Proficiency with SQL (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, DB2, and/or other enterprise Database Management Systems.)
  • Familiarity with Data Modelling, Data Architecture, and working in a Data Warehousing environment
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records/Electronic Health Records (EMR/EHR), Medical Billing (Soarian or similar), LabVantage, Oncore, or similar medical and laboratory systems a plus.
  • Relevant experience in a research, academic, scientific or healthcare environment is a plus.
