The successful candidate:

City of Hope, a renowned cancer research and treatment center, is seeking a Remote Adult Cancer Genetic Counselor to join our dynamic team to provide care for our Chicago, Atlanta and Phoenix sites. As a pioneer in genetic counseling services, City of Hope is dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients.

The Genetic Counselor will provide genetic counseling and cancer risk assessment services with coordination of genetic testing when appropriate. The Genetic Counselor communicates effectively with patients, clinicians, employees, and external organizations. Participates in genetics meetings and multidisciplinary tumor boards, acts as an internal and external resource on cancer genetics, and contributes to the overall achievement of departmental goals.

Job Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in genetic counseling/medical genetics from a program accredited by the Accreditation Counsel for Genetic Counseling
  • American Board of Genetic Counseling Certified (preferred) or Eligible
  • Licensed or eligible to obtain genetic counseling licensure in Georgia, Illinois and other states as needed
  • Genetic counseling license in good standing with all currently or previously licensed states
  • Clinical experience in cancer genetics preferred, new graduates will be considered
  • Experience with telehealth service delivery model for genetics consults
  • Interest/experience in clinical research a plus
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience/proficiency with EMR (EPIC preferred), pedigree (FamGenix preferred) and risk assessment models

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $31.89 - $52.55 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
