Job Description

Based in the NTRO Research Operation Department, this Nurse Practitioner provides patient care under the auspices of the Moffitt Research Institute (MRI) and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise; advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer.

The Ideal Candidate:

§  A clinical professional, personable, and organized individual with healthcare/medical knowledge and experience working with the HIV population.

§  The ability to multitask is highly desirable. 

§  An individual that can think critically and synthesize information well.

§  The successful candidate will have in depth knowledge of how epidemiological research is conducted.

§  Certification preferred by a national organization in adult medicine, family medicine or oncology.

 Responsibilities:

§  Collects clinical specimens.

§  Vaccinates study participants per protocol.

§  Monitors and tracks study participant’s adverse events and report when needed.

Working with external collaborators, tracks lab results; notify and advise participants and provides treatment if necessary.

§  Works closely with the Principal Investigator, Project Manager, and clinic staff.

§  Documents study participant care in accordance with medical staff rules. 

Credentials and Qualifications:

§  Graduate of an accredited Advance Registered Nurse Program.

                §  Active Florida License and National Certification

                § Active BLS Certification (must be AHA approved)
